The opportunity

The Research Funding Manager will play a key role managing, supporting and deepening the development of Research Funding culture at the London College of Communication, cultivating and catalysing a submission of bids and the delivery of research funding awards. Providing support to academic staff, primarily across the London College of Communication as part of UAL, and contributing to mapping academic links and networks is central to the role.

The post-holder will manage the day-to-day administration and mentoring involved in preparing UK and international (non-EU) research funding applications for submission by the College. Under the direction of the ADR and in co-ordination with the UAL research management centrally (RMA), the post holder will lead in liaising with academic staff and coordinate aspects of the pre-award process for specified funding applications as well as providing post-award support. The post-holder will contribute to the work of the LCC and RMA offices in mapping academic links and networks.

About you

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic colleague who enjoys supporting colleagues in developing their ideas. The expertise and personal skills to cultivate research applications from a diverse range of research-active staff to a broad mix of research funders is essential. A key ability is to think creatively about sourcing research funding and strategically in encouraging the development of a trajectory of research funding bids.
