The opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work collaboratively with academics and business development staff across the University of the Arts London (UAL) to support development of funded knowledge exchange projects and opportunities, particularly the redevelopment of UAL’s portfolio of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs). This will involve not only identifying how existing client relationships can be supported in accessing relevant funding to support longer term knowledge exchange projects (including KTP), but also pro-actively engaging in industry networking to identify new clients and project opportunities.

The role will also liaise between academic staff, College-based Business & innovation teams, and UAL’s Research Management and Administration department, in order to ensure effective support and management is provided for contract research activities across UAL.

About you

Educated to degree level, you have a track record in managing collaborative projects between academia and industry, and demonstrable experience of leading and developing strong internal and external networks and fostering collaboration. Ideally, you have specific experience of developing and managing KTPs and/or a track record in sales of consultancy, innovation support, or research services, preferably in the higher education or creative sector.

You can communicate ideas clearly and persuasively, and understand how to construct an effective business case for investment.  You also demonstrate a proven ability to plan, co-ordinate and review work, effort, and resources, ensuring maximum efficiency and delivery of goals.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.
