The opportunity
The Senior Lecturer in Fashion/ Fashion Communication (Race & Transcultural Studies focus) is responsible for teaching, course development, and on-going scholarship in the Fashion Programme. The post holder will be expected to have a specialism in either fashion design or fashion communication with a Race & Transcultural Studies focus, and will work collaboratively across course teams, teaching and deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

Requirements of the role:
- Undergraduate degree in Fashion / Fashion Communication or associated subject.
- Experience of teaching & assessment in a higher education environment (permanent, fractional, or hourly paid contract)
- Applies an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach to teaching
- Considers and promotes equality, diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment
- Shows commitment to understanding the range of students’ experiences within a course
- Collaborates and works effectively within team and across different professional groups
- Works effectively and respectfully with a wide range of people
- Fosters inclusive and constructive teamwork and problem-solving
- Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Fashion/Fashion Communication activity and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University
- Evidence of using contacts within subject peer group to develop partnerships or collaboration
- Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve objectives
- Higher degree (e.g. MA) in Fashion / Fashion Communication or associated subject (Desirable)
- PhD or Higher-level research degree (Desirable)
- Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) (Desirable)
- Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (Desirable)
