The International Introduction to the Study of Design, Media and Screen (NQF level 3) is a one-year course that provides a practical and theoretical introduction to the varied disciplines of design, media and screen communication, aimed at international students who want to progress to an undergraduate course at London College of Communication. Students explore a range of pathways including; graphic design, branding, advertising, journalism, spatial design, public relations, games design, film and photography. As a 0.5FT Lecturer on this course you will work closely with the Course Leader in enhancing the student experience and contributing to the academic development of this course.

About you

We are looking for an inspirational lecturer with an academic background in a screen related discipline. You should be able to teach across a broad range of disciplines and have specialist knowledge in animation, games, or a related area. You will have the expertise, enthusiasm and communication skills to inspire our diverse cohort of students, together with a current and innovative professional practice and/or research profile. A postgraduate qualification is highly desirable as is a teaching qualification. You will have substantial experience of teaching a screen related discipline at level 3 (Further Education), and you should be able to demonstrate experience of working with international students. We are particularly interested in candidates conversant with current trends and who have specialist knowledge in both traditional and non-traditional approaches to the disciplines taught on the course, including digital software applications. We are seeking a team player who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues from other courses in order to develop the subject area. Your talent for communicating practice-based skills and theory should be complemented by excellent administrative and organisational skills.
