The opportunity
Initially based at Wimbledon College of Arts, you will support the day-to-day operation of the Central Loan Store (CLS) facilities at Camberwell, Chelsea or Wimbledon College of Arts (CCW) by staffing the equipment issues/returns desk, accurately maintaining the department databases, ensuring that equipment is returned in good order and that CLS Policy is properly and consistently administered.
This post requires someone with technical knowledge of specialist photographic/ video equipment and accessories. The ability to work independently and as part of a team and deal with customer enquiries quickly in a busy environment, ensuring that the experience of each customer is positive and satisfactory, is also required.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills are essential as is the ability to provide oral and written information clearly and concisely.
Your duties will include ensuring that CLS security measures are adhered to at all times, that equipment is returned in its entirety and in good order as well as carrying out preventative maintenance of equipment and providing advice, to borrowers, on how to use equipment safely and properly.

Technical knowledge of and practical experience with specialist photographic/ video and IT equipment and accessories.
Knowledge of how to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Confident in the use of MS Office – particularly Word and Excel.
An understanding of how social media is used as a marketing communications tool.
Working in a busy customer service orientated environment.
Experience assisting demanding customers and dealing with complaints in a professional manner to achieve a mutually beneficial resolution.
Working with bespoke database software.
Maintaining accurate records and carrying out reporting.
Communicates effectively orally, in writing and/or using visual media.
Effectively delivers basic training or briefings to support understanding or learning where required.
Plans, prioritises and organises work to achieve objectives on time.
Works collaboratively in a team or with different professional groups
Provides a reliable, positive, responsive, proactive and friendly student or customer service
Uses initiative or creativity to resolve day-to-day-problems
