The opportunity

This interesting and challenging role involves working with and supporting the Dean of Media in running a large, diverse School during a time of change and development. The role requires discretion and intelligence to help enhance the business and working atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable PA/Secretarial experience of at least 3-5 years.

On a typical day your responsibilities will include inbox management, diary management, travel arrangement, dictation for the drafting of correspondence and emails sent on the Dean’s behalf, expenses, clerking meetings, and organising events. You will meet and transact with a wide range of visitors and to arrange hospitality for meetings and functions. You will be an essential part of the team and will help manage the day to day running of the Dean’s office .You will get involved in supporting the Dean with events, HR admin and financial admin.  

Within the role accuracy and literacy is of paramount importance as you will be required to clerk complex meetings.

About you

The Dean of Media needs a bright, self motivated individual who wishes to work within a creative academic environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable PA/Secretarial experience of at least 3-5 years.

The ideal candidate will be extremely flexible in their work ethic, happy to run with projects and tasks both big and small. You should be very IT literate (particularly on Word, Outlook and Excel), have extensive experience of inbox and diary management, have a typing speed of 60 wpm, and be confident of working on your own initiative. Shorthand is desirable though not essential.
