The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team of technicians supporting students studying animation, VFX and VR.

You will develop workshops and provide professional technical expertise, guidance and advice in traditional and digital 2D animation, stop-motion animation, 3D animation and VFX techniques as part of the Digital Arts technical team at London College of Communication.

You will work with students in the Moving Image and Digital Arts programme, including BA and MA Animation, BA and MA Virtual Reality, MA VFX and MA 3D Computer Animation.

Drawing upon your extensive knowledge and experience, you will support student learning in subjects including but not limited to: using rostrum and multiplane cameras and lighting setups; using motion capture equipment and software; working with 2D and 3D animation software; and working with VFX software and pipelines, helping them to develop a broad range of increasingly essential technical skills.

About you

You will have a relevant qualification or equivalent experience, and extensive knowledge of animation and VFX technologies, processes and techniques. You will work with technicians and academics in the college to teach and support students of all skill levels and abilities and create an inclusive environment for student learning. You will be a creative and motivated individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team.
