The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Careers Consultant to play a key role in helping to shape the future of the fashion industry with the Graduate Futures Team at London College of Fashion.

Graduate Futures help students and graduates get ahead in the creative industries, either as employed or self-employed professionals. The programme includes practical and inspiring talks and workshops, one-to-one support, employment and graduate opportunities and industry networking.

As an Careers Consultant for Graduate Futures, you will design and deliver extra-curricular careers support as part of the Graduate Futures service to:

  • Enable our students and graduates to fulfil their career ambitions through employment or self-employment
  • Acknowledge their individuality, support their growth and encourage them as contributors to a civic society and innovation-led industry
  • Create opportunities through connection and collaboration with our community of alumni and industry partners

You will work closely with students and graduates to help develop their enterprising skills, facilitating and delivering tailored workshops, and 1-1 coaching sessions, as well as coordinating specific events.

You will also build and nurture links across the University and other external organisations to develop networks with opportunities for students.

About you

A relevant coaching/mentoring qualification or related experience is essential, with knowledge of industry and careers within the HE sector, as well as a proven ability in identifying the skills required in different fashion and lifestyle roles along with the ability to identify talent.

Experience of building networks and managing contacts within the UK and specifically EU and Internationally is also important, as is project management experience.
