The opportunity

We have created a virtual communications team, with representatives in each college or service working with a central team, to deliver joined-up, comprehensive communications to staff, students and external stakeholders across UAL.

The university is undertaking a series of major change initiatives and we are now looking to recruit two new Communications Executives to join our team, who will focus on college-level and cross-UAL communications campaigns. The post holders will be responsible for leading on communications relating to a series of change projects and initiatives. They will also help to create a strategic framework around communications in these key areas. They will work within a college or central service for a finite period of time, likely to be several months, before moving into the next ‘placement’ according to business need. They will work within the virtual team and with colleagues in colleges and key services across the wider university to deliver and maintain effective communications through a variety of channels; telling compelling stories; providing timely information, promoting college and university-wide initiatives ensuring they are joined up and that they maximise engagement from staff, students and the outside world.

About you

You will be an organised, enthusiastic and a hard-working team player who has had previous experience in a similar role. You will be a first-class communicator who is able to create great relationships with people at all levels. You’ll be digitally savvy and have exceptional writing skills as well as excellent IT skills, including design software. You will have experience of delivering coordinated communications to a wide audience. Previous experience of working in a university would be an advantage but is not essential for the right candidate. And it goes without saying you’ll be passionate about communications and about the creative arts.
