The opportunity

 

This role offers an organised and confident communicator the opportunity to develop and deploy an exciting school and college recruitment strategy for UAL. You will be confident in assessing, identifying and describing the issues that affect the sector and its stakeholders. You will be keen to generate student focused solutions to student recruitment projects at UAL.

 You will be responsible for the planning, management and coordination of the UK recruitment activity schedule for UAL. The delivery of these activities will enable prospective students to find our more regarding what UAL has to offer, assisting each of the UAL colleges to meet their recruitment targets and supporting student decision making and confidence. Your role will include management of the UAL Progression Partnership and UAL School and College recruitment network.

 The team is committed to the development and improvement of recruitment activities, materials and content which stimulate interest and raise ambitions. You will need to show creativity in the development of resources and an ability to manage and exploit multiple marketing channels for the purpose of student recruitment. You’ll need to manage relationships effectively with colleagues from the UAL colleges and a range of central services including Marketing, Content, the Planning Unit, Admissions, Registry and UALab.

This role requires excellent people skills, complex project management and problem solving. You can expect challenging phases of the year as we progress through the application cycle. You will need to organised, strategic and capable of communicating effectively regarding the objectives and outcomes of our activities with a range of internal and external audiences. You must be an effective manager of events and staff.

About you

You must have knowledge and experience of specific approach and skills required to work with schools and colleges in a liaison role. A good understanding of the issues affecting art and design education within the secondary and further education sector.

You must have experience of developing and implementing a varied schedule of HE recruitment activities in response to market developments, with an evidenced capacity to evaluate success and improve outcomes and adherence to objectives. 

Experience of leading and developing internal and external networks, actively seeking to build productive and enduring relationships between and within teams to strengthen working relationships and foster collaboration, influencing events and decisions.

 Experience of understanding and presenting requirements for innovation in process and of managing /supporting others with change.

 Experience of managing a small team and/or coaching or mentoring staff.

 Experience of working independently without direct supervision.
