The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a fashion design specialist with experience with supporting and mentoring students to play a key role contributing to the undergraduate Diploma and Professional Studies course at the London College of Fashion.

You will have a variety of responsibilities, such as undertaking teaching, unit management, curriculum development and research in fashion.

This will include delivering seminars, workshops and practical demonstrations to support students preparing for the placement year and completion of the Diploma in Professional Studies.

We want our students to have inventive, assertive ideas and with your experience and guidance you will provide them with the skills, opportunities and freedom to put those ideas into practice during their sandwich placement in industry. You will liaise and negotiate with industry partners to secure placements for our students.

About you

Key to this post will be the ability to actively contribute to the organisation and management of the course and remotely, maintain high quality student experience and pastoral care. You will also need to be able to confidently support the students while they are on their placement, in addition to giving on-going tutorial support, constructive guidance and feedback.

Teaching and learning experience and/or equivalent industry experience in fashion design and product development in one of the following specialisms is also essential: clothing, footwear and/or accessories.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity.
