The opportunity

Supporting The Digital Space within the highly technical Digital Teaching & Learning department, this role will assist students from a wide variety of courses from Foundation, BA & MA Graphic & Media Design, Illustration & Visual Media to Design for Branded Spaces and Photography amongst others.

As a specialist teaching & learning technician the successful applicant will be expected to deliver training workshops alongside the other specialist technical staff in the form of Open Access workshops, formal course aligned sessions and accredited short courses.

The focus of this role is to support the ever-growing demand for skills knowledge in digital design processes that feed into some of the other practical outputs across other departments such as 3D prototyping, digital printing, printmaking & maker processes.

About you

The successful applicant will work alongside technicians and academics within the college to ensure students are trained in the safe, innovative and professional use of the College’s technical resources. Applicants are required to have experience delivering formal teaching sessions to students from an FE/HE background in the area of digital skills and creative software with a particular focus on 2D/3D CAD, illustration & graphic design.

Above all we are looking for a motivated, creative individual who can add to a growing and increasingly important team at the college. We would expect high levels of technical competence and a dedication to personal development.
