The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to actively contribute to courses within the School of Design and Technology. Working as part of a committed team, you will deliver focused weekly announcements, workshops, lectures and eLearning material about fashion drawing, fashion illustration  mixed media and art, in the context of fashion.

The ideal candidate will have experience in art, fashion drawing and fashion illustration with a broad understanding of multimedia methods and techniques, underpinned by art history and contemporary practice in industry.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the variety of levels fashion drawing and illustration can be supportive, developmental and suitable for within today industries. Candidates should have experience using manual and CAD systems, which may include Illustrator and Adobe Suite Design packages

It is expected the candidate will understand academic, abstract and vocational drawing / art practices. Candidates should have a keen interest in exploring, the diversification of the human body and mind through fashion drawing and fashion illustration.

Ready to undertake teaching, critiques, project management, curriculum support and research, candidates will provide pastoral and academic support to our diverse range of students. Candidates will also build and refresh our links with those in professional practice and related industries.

About you

You will be a practicing artists / illustrator with an industry based profile.

You will have subject expertise suitable to teach in this field as well as knowledge of the breadth and diversity of current professional practice within the creative, communication and associated industries.

You will be committed to working within a team and teaching experience in the HE sector is also an advantage.

You will have experience of working with HE students and enhancing the student experience, as well as a relevant degree in a related subject area, complemented by knowledge and experience in the subject.
