Business Manager: Camberwell Chelsea Wimbledon & Institute of Creative Computing

The opportunity

The post of Business Manager for Camberwell Chelsea Wimbledon & the Institute of Creative Computing UAL Short Courses unit is a highly commercial role and the unit delivers significant profits which in turn go back to the Colleges and the Institute. You will manage the financial, marketing, sales and administrative functions of the unit. Courses operate during term-time, week-ends, summer holidays and online. Some are operated overseas and the business also creates bespoke training for corporate clients and study tours for international students and university groups. The post holder will engage with academic, technical and support staff colleagues across the Colleges and the Institute and with outside partners to develop new products in existing and new areas of activity to generate profit. This post will involve managing both a mature business at CCW and a start-up venture at the Institute of Creative Computing.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a track record of significant profit delivery and growth in a similar or related business area. We are looking for an individual with ability to generate business from project idea to delivery. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to present compelling arguments to influence and negotiate at all levels. Candidates must have demonstrable success in leading and developing internal networks, and must also demonstrate the commercial acumen to balance risk and opportunity. Experience of managing and leading a team, and successfully encouraging contribution and involvement from staff at all levels is essential.
