The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Media School at London College of Communication.
Senior Lecturer Communications and Media (Public Relations)
You will join our established team of academics and visiting industry practitioners teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate Public Relations courses. You will already be a lecturer or senior lecturer in Public Relations or a related field in Higher Education. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with expertise in the teaching of Public Relations as it relates to business, social and cultural environments, including campaign planning, digital convergence, emergent media practices and Public Relations research methods. As senior lecturer you will take responsibility for the management and coordination of relevant units, and other related duties as determined by the Course Leader and/or Programme Director, providing wider course managerial duties as appropriate. You will be aware of current areas of research in Public Relations and produce original research outputs and scholarly activity in your own area of specialism.
About you
We are looking for an established academic who can contribute to the development and delivery of this course. You will have substantial teaching experience and a proven track record of delivering a high quality student experience, including contribution to curriculum development, delivery and assessment. You will be committed to a teaching approach that integrates theory and practice. You will have or be willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification. A PhD is desirable, or you will be able to evidence research and scholarly activity in a relevant subject and knowledge of the latest developments in the Public Relations and communication fields. In addition, you will have experience of providing academic and pastoral support to students, of monitoring student progress and maintaining appropriate records, and of undertaking general unit management responsibilities. You will have a strong commitment to the advancement of your field and have an ability to work as part of a team.
