The opportunity

We are looking for a Research and Knowledge Exchange Development Coordinator (Stratford), to support the Director of Research and Innovation (Stratford) in the development of collaborative external research funding opportunities with academic and industry partners, spanning the wider creative economy.

Key responsibilities include; targeting external income from a diverse range of sources including UKRI Research Councils to Government opportunities and charitable trusts; extending the College's links in research, professional practices and related industries; and building and maintaining partnerships across established and new academic, industry and cultural sector networks.

Research at LCF thrives within the College's unique specialist and transdisciplinary environment and is supported and resourced by dedicated research facilities such as the cosmetic science and digital laboratories, Fashion Space Gallery (FSG), world class library and archive. LCF hosts two world leading UAL Research Centres, for Fashion Curation and Sustainable Fashion; the Digital Anthropology Lab and seven Research Hubs including one that supports the activity of approximately 70 PhD students. Research spans practice and theory in design, performance, curation, artefact, psychology, cosmetic science, social science, sustainable and material practices, creative business and management, digital production and communication, film, media and cultural studies.

About you

Using your experience of operating across established academic, industry and cultural sector networks you will provide focused opportunities for income generation and collaboration in cross-disciplinary research and both academic and developmental research support to members of staff, monitoring progress and maintaining appropriate records. As appropriate, you may also support postgraduate teaching and research supervision.

Key to this post will be a track record of supporting the development of successful research funding proposals and medium to high value funding bids to UK and international sources, working primarily across transdisciplinary teams, including the science, arts, humanities and social sciences. You will ideally be doctorally qualified or equivalent, with an interest in research, related policy developments and engaged with research intersecting the many disciplines attached to the wider creative economy.
