The opportunity

We are seeking to recruit a specialist Animation Lecturer within the Moving Image & Digital Arts programme, part of the Screen School at London College of Communication. In an era with unparalleled opportunities for skilled visual communicators, and with advancing technologies changing how the moving image is experienced by audiences, Animation at LCC is taught as an experimental visual practice in which students are encouraged to test boundaries and experiment to find their own creative voice. The Animation Lecturer is responsible for teaching, course development, and on-going scholarship within Animation. The post-holder will work collaboratively with other staff members, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

About you

You will be a highly motivated individual with a student-centred approach to teaching and learning. You will be proactive in your own learning and have up to date skills and knowledge within the field of Animation and the wider visual and moving image culture. You’ll have a good knowledge of the Creative Industries and have industry experience that you are open to sharing as part of your teaching practice.

It is desirable that your relevant software expertise include, but not be limited to -

  • Toon Boom
  • TV Paint
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Traditional 2D techniques
  • Filmmaking
