The opportunity

The School Research Coordinator (Academic) works with staff teams in the School of Media and Communication to develop their research opportunities and outputs. Highlighting opportunities, delivery support, encouraging new staff to become research active and developing higher level research projects for more experienced staff will be part of the everyday delivery and development of the role.

You will prepare and collate high quality reports, presentations and correspondence, supporting and assisting in the administrative of a range of research-related events and activities and College committees. Some of your time will also be working with students undertaking Research Methodologies study and developing their academic research understanding and skills. This is an opportunity to be at the heart of and driving a range of creative and exciting research initiatives.

Able to demonstrate that you are yourself research active, you must be self-motivated and able to work independently, in addition to as part of a team. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of the School, College and University and therefore, your initiative and enthusiasm to generate opportunities and see projects through to the end will be required, along with excellent administrative, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
