The opportunity

We are looking to appoint a Creative Producer to assist with the delivery and evolution of Modual, UAL’s collaborative digital leadership workshop that explores new forms of arts education for a post-digital age. This project, initiated by UAL’s Chair of Digital Arts Professor Fred Deakin, has already delivered seven two week workshops to students in London, Manchester, Falmouth, New York and Mumbai, working in partnership with industry hosts such as Mother, UsTwo, Makerversity and Somerset House Studios. (More information at modual.org.)

You will be responsible for building on Modual’s success and, in partnership with its founder, taking the project to its next phase, working locally and internationally with academic and industry collaborators to deliver a series of innovative workshops to a wide range of participants.

About you

We’re looking for a self-motivated individual with a wide range of skills, experienced in managing both real world and digital projects and not afraid to get their hands dirty. You’ll be happy dealing with various stakeholders including students, staff and experts: other tasks will include co-designing workshop schedules, brainstorming new initiatives, establishing and codifying production processes, running team meetings, balancing accounts, negotiating and purchasing, running social media campaigns, updating websites and much more. You will have an understanding of strategic thinking, copy writing, event management and public relations as well as a keen interest in creativity and design thinking. An arts degree is desirable: previous experience working in the creative industries and / or arts education is essential.

This unique role will suit an innovative individual looking for a challenging growth experience that will empower them on a personal level while assisting others to do the same. You will be working hands on at the heart of an exciting project that explores creativity, digital innovation, future thinking and social enterprise in a range of locations both local and international. Initially for a year, there is a possibility of this being extended. Due to the nature of the project, some flexibility around the scheduling of working days is essential, so the role would be suited to an individual with their own freelance practise.
