The opportunity
The successful candidate will be the lead manager and administrator of UAL’s research information systems. These are the recently implemented current research information system (Symplectic Elements) and the established research data repository (ePrints). The post-holder will assist UAL’s research community in the accurate creation, preservation and analysis of research data, and ensure that ongoing and planned activities are aligned with best practice. He or she will make a significant contribution to the preparation and submission of UAL’s REF2021 submission. The role will be based in the central research support department but will involve working closely with academics across UAL, and colleagues in IT Services and Library Services.
About you
You have knowledge of research information systems and research data repositories. Ideally, you have experience of CRIS and research data management support in a higher education institution. You understand best practice on open file formats and open access. You are comfortable with data analysis and visualisation. You will welcome the opportunity to develop skills and expertise in a new area of CRIS as UAL is the first specialist art and design institution to implement such a system.
