About you

We are looking for Associate Lecturers to contribute to the successes of these courses and to expand our portfolio of skills and diversity of voices to further enhance student experience.

We are seeking to interview people with practical experience in journalism and publishing

In the area of Journalism, we are seeking people with experience across a range of areas: written and online journalism, social media, audio and video production.

In the area of Publishing we are seeking people with experience across all aspects of book publishing or magazine publishing (or both). We are looking for practitioners and/or educators who are involved in editorial/commissioning, marketing including digital/social media, operational aspects (such as data) and production and design, both print and digital including audio. You may have experience from mainstream and/or indie sectors for book and magazine, including academic publishing (book and journal) as well as those who may have experience of publishing roles in the wider sector such as content developers and digital producers.

Teaching experience is preferable but not essential.

Experience in managing projects and team working is central.

Ability to engage with academic theory, academic reading and writing, and supervising academic projects is also important.

Please state clearly which area (Journalism or Publishing) you are interested in on your application.

Your role in these courses will be to contribute to a wide range of discussions that connect journalism and publishing practice and theory, including the preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars, workshop and tutorials across units for a diverse cohort of students. You may be involved in managing student projects in small groups and supervising final major projects. You will be expected to get up to speed on some of the theoretical frameworks and academic processes of the courses and you will engage with theories and tools of blended learning. You will take part in assessment and course preparation, as well as monitoring students’ engagement and progression at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. Building networks with internal and external contacts will be an important aspect of the role.

If you have any specific queries about the courses contact Frania Hall f.hall@lcc.arts.ac.uk in the first instance who can direct you to the relevant course leader.

For general queries contact Lesley Wilkins - lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk
