The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) is a world-class university, shaping the creative industries worldwide. Expert governance is crucial to UAL’s continued success, so that decisions are properly made and meet all of our legal and corporate obligations.

To ensure this continues, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Governance Manager to play a key role managing effective governance across UAL.

The Governance Manager will be responsible for clerking governor and other allocated committees of all types and will provide support to the University Secretary and Deputy University Secretary, as well as manage the Corporate Governance Team.

They will write and present reports to governor committees on behalf of the University Secretary, prepare agendas and distribute meeting arrangements, as well as take minutes at committee meetings.

About you

The ideal candidate will need experience of governance frameworks within either the charitable, higher or further education or public sectors, as well as experience of working within a committee support environment within either of these sectors.

The ability to interact effectively with senior management and trustees is equally important, as is the ability to draft reports, minutes and agendas.

Previous applicants need not apply.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Twinkle Brahmbhatt, Senior Resourcing Adviser via email at USGstaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk or 020 7514 2965.
