The opportunity

Based at Kings Cross, UAL is looking for an Assistant Category Manager to join the procurement team. The focus of this role will be to act as the Assistant Category Manager, primarily to support the busy Estates/IT/Indirects categories, and to work closely with the Category Managers for these disciplines. The Assistant Category Manager will support complex procurements and projects, whilst having ownership of low value/complexity tenders in these areas.

The procurement department at UAL is a truly collaborative one, and candidates should have the ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, and representing the department with a friendly, helpful and professional ethos. The post will support to the wider objectives of the procurement team to position the department as a strategic partner with stakeholders.

About you

Candidates for this role should have demonstrable practical procurement experience, including tendering, the use of eSourcing systems, knowledge of procurement frameworks and excellent procurement administration skills. This is a very busy role, so proven excellence in managing a busy and varied workload will be key. The role will include the management and responsibility of contract databases and project trackers, working closely with Category Managers and the Head of Procurement. In additional to this, skills in data analysis (using Excel and PowerBI) would be an advantage.
