The opportunity
The postholder will be responsible for the development and delivery of international experiences of academic, cultural and reputational importance for LCC’s diverse community of creative learners and practitioners.
Based in the College’s busy International Development Office, the role is an important conduit between coordinating the front-line, day-to-day operation of the College’s international projects and partnerships, and contributing to the wider planning, development and evaluation of the College’s international activities. The postholder will also act as an advocate for meaningful and sustainable internationalisation at LCC, working to ensure greater levels of engagement and participation in international initiatives.
About you
We are looking for someone who can combine sound administrative skills and project coordination experience (preferably obtained in an international/Higher Education environment) with a strong understanding of the value and importance of cross-border collaboration, particularly in the context of the College’s subject disciplines.
As a baseline, you will have knowledge and expertise in the running of staff and student mobility programmes – but also the ability to place mobility within the wider context of internationalisation in H.E, and to think more holistically about types of international activity that could be of benefit to LCC’s staff and students and ways in which it might be delivered.
You will need excellent communication and problem solving skills, plenty of initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision. You will also be confident in motivating and influencing others, both inside and outside of the LCC International Development team, in order to achieve set goals which help to develop an internationalised culture at the College.
Given the diverse nature of LCC’s staff and students – and the location of the role in the College’s International Development Office – it is essential that you hold a high level of cultural awareness and enjoy working with a variety of people from different backgrounds.
