The opportunity

In this teaching role you will develop and deliver high quality academic support tailored to the needs of individuals, groups, and subjects, enabling students to develop as confident independent learners and to fulfil their academic potential. This may include contributing to specific initiatives that support students transitioning into and progressing through FE and HE education and on to post-graduate study and coordinating elements of the offer across the 3 colleges.

As a core member of the Academic Support Team at Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon you will collaborate effectively with Programme /Course Teams and with other Academic Support colleagues in the University to implement the cross-college Library and Academic Support Strategy as part of the Library and Student Services Directorate. You will apply inclusive practices which recognise the diversity of the student population at UAL and demonstrate an understanding of the specific subject disciplines taught in the Schools of Performance, Design and Art across the three Colleges.

About you

You will have significant experience of delivering learning development initiatives and supporting students to fulfil their academic potential within HE and/or FE. In addition to a teaching qualification and a degree-level education, you will have experience in Arts Education or in the Fine Art, Performance and Design Industries as a Practitioner. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential, together with an enthusiastic and supportive approach that will inspire students to succeed to the best of their abilities in both group and 1:1 settings.

You possess the ability to work collaboratively in a team and across different professional groups. An effective communicator, both orally and in writing, you are able to adapt the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way, building and maintaining positive relationships with students and staff alike.

Please indicate in your application whether you are applying for the 0.6 post, the 0.4 post or both.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th October.

Please note that CVs submitted without a formal application form will not be accepted for consideration. If you have any queries about these roles that are not covered in the documentation available, please Christine Crouch, Staffing Administrator CCW at jobs.ccw@arts.ac.uk.
