The opportunity


London College of Fashion's Business & Innovation department cultivates industry partnerships and links through consultancy, collaboration and industry projects. Business & Innovation plays an important role in delivering the College’s Knowledge Exchange strategy, providing platforms for the benefit of our students and staff that support local and global enterprise, boosting economic development as well as creating social value.


As Associate Director Business & Innovation, you will lead and manage the work of the department, identifying and developing opportunities for the College to engage with significant externally funded innovation projects and ensuring a high quality and professional delivery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing income generation strategies in the context of Knowledge Exchange, working collaboratively to identify and attract new national and international business partners and building strategic relationships across the University, industry and other external organisations.


You will also provide the link between the College’s Graduate Futures service and our business support programmes and incubation spaces that create a connected network of support for students, alumni and businesses, positioning LCF as a world-leading centre for fashion enterprise and innovation.


 

About you


The successful candidate will offer significant experience of developing a strategic vision for enterprise and knowledge exchange, along with proven experience developing successful bids for funded projects. Knowledge of the current UK and international funding landscape, and business support programmes will be key to this role, as will excellent business development and project management expertise within the fashion sector, specifically in the areas of business planning, critical path planning, cash-flow analysis, financial analysis, new business opportunities and international market development.
