The opportunity

Interviews will take place on 9th February

We are looking for an experienced lecturer who can take a key role in exploring new ways of delivering theory on our BA Journalism course. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have a teaching or research specialism in data journalism, audience analytics or social media.

For the right candidate, there will be the opportunity to put your own mark on the curriculum, and you will be encouraged to be bold and innovative. The teaching will range from leading first year theory lectures to supervising final year dissertations. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in the practice side of the course.

We are seeking an applicant who is committed to pursuing their research interests, or willing to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to make funding bids. There will also be support for the development of international links – whether as a staff exchange or via collaborative projects.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in planning and delivering undergraduate teaching and assessment. You should also be capable of engaging with the more vocational aspects of the course. Experience of unit or year leadership is also desirable.

Applicants for the post will already have a PhD in a relevant subject, or be working towards completion, and have a track record in publishing journalism research. Having a research interest that reflects future trends in journalism will be an advantage.

It is also expected that you will be in possession of, or be willing to undertake, a teaching qualification.

If you have any general queries, you may contact Lesley Wilkins, Staffing Administrator, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 020 7514 7985.
