The opportunity

The Facilities Coordinator assists the Facilities Manager in the coordination and monitoring of day to day FM activities across the College and the supervision of the Facilities Assistants. Liaising with FM service partners and college representatives on FM operational service matters.

The service activities include but are not limited to: Cleaning, Post & Porterage, Maintenance, Statutory Compliance, Health and Safety, minor works projects, refurbishments and the daily reactive tasks logged on the Helpdesk and to promote a secure, well maintained and friendly environment for staff, students and visitors.

About you

Your profile should include:

  • Experience of supervising a team or process, while remaining hands-on and part of a team.
  • Knowledge and experience of facilities and security operations.
  • Excellent customer-focused service and attention to detail.
  • Practical working knowledge of the helpdesk and ability to prioritise job requests, allocation and distribution to completion.
  • Competent to assess risk and create risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance, maintenance and facilities operations.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way.
  • Ability to work as part of team.
  • Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, which will be five days over a six day week, including some Saturdays.
  • Adopts a flexible approach to moving at short notice and on some occasions within the same day between UAL College buildings.

It also works with 12 Halls of residence, three of which are UAL Estates managed halls.
