The opportunity

You'll contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and customer-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges.

Key components of the role include being responsible for academic support and liaison for courses within Camberwell College of Arts, and participating in the promotion of resources, collections and services through effective academic liaison and information dissemination. In addition, you'll establish constructive working relationships with staff responsible for curriculum development and the delivery of courses and assist in the provision of enquiry services, developing learning materials which encourage the use of resources and services. You will also assist in supervising the shelving team at Camberwell.

This post consists of working Wednesdays and Thursdays each week including one evening until 7.45pm during HE term time (currently Thursdays) and until 6:15pm during vacation on a rota basis. Candidates must be able to commit to this to be considered.

About you

With either a degree in any subject plus a postgraduate qualification or a degree in Library and Information Studies or equivalent and relevant experience in a library or customer service environment you will create realistic plans to achieve the agreed deadlines and objectives of the role. With experience of providing guidance to support the diverse needs of library users you will be able to communicate accurate and relevant information regarding services and systems in a manner that demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and an understanding of the academic context of the University.
