The opportunity
You will be working alongside another Senior Disability Adviser and the Deputy Manager, overseeing the work of Disability Advisers and directly delivering advice and support to prospective and current students on disability access and support issues, funding and other sources of support. You will:
- provide information, advice and guidance to students and prospective students on disability related topics.
- support, develop and oversee the work of other Disability Advisers to provide information, advice and guidance services.
- offer college and other staff guidance on disability equality good practice, including making adjustments in relation to teaching, learning and assessment and to oversee the work of other Disability Advisers to ensure that consistent and high quality practice is established and maintained.
- In liaison with the Deputy Manager and team develop, facilitate and participate in UAL’s disability equality staff training provision.
About you
You will have detailed knowledge of disability issues as they relate to Further and Higher Education settings. An experienced Disability Adviser, you will have experience of working collaboratively and encouraging good practice in respect of including disabled students. You will also have successful experience of working in a team, project-management and problem-solving. You will be educated to degree level, of have a Certificate in Applied Advice Work, NVQ Level 3 Advice and Guidance, or equivalent qualification.
