The opportunity

We currently have 2 full time Library Assistant roles available within the London College of Communication Library Services team:

1. Based in the LCC Learning Zone team, which has specific responsibility for IT provision within Library Services on site.  This includes support for: MFD printing and copying; PCs; iMacs; self-issue MacBooks; scanners; support for Microsoft office and Adobe Creative cloud. 

2. Based in the LCC Customer Services team, which co-ordinates user services on site. This includes support for: Koha circulation, our Library Management System; intersite loans and inter library loans;  UAL, and external user membership; dealing with user enquiries.

For both roles:

You will assist in the delivery of high quality customer-focused library and open access IT services, participating in front-line services and administrative duties, including support for self-issue systems and IT.

You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries, including the use of Library materials, as well as participating in roaming support. You'll also provide guidance on the use of electronic information resources, the internet and support general purpose software.

About you

You will have relevant experience in a library, open access IT or customer service environment and will be able to work independently, have basic numeracy skills or experience of financial procedures and have experience using Microsoft office 365, Internet and electronic resources.


You are able to ensure that accurate information is passed onto the most appropriate people in a timely fashion and have experience of answering standard questions/queries from customers.  You have experience of working as a member of a team, providing support, assistance and cover where needed.
