Lecturer BA Illustration & Visual Media (Time-based Practice)

The Design School is looking to recruit a Lecturer to the BA Illustration & Visual Media with a focus on time based practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a highly creative and inventive approach to time-based practice applied in the expanded field of illustration and visual media to contribute to the future facing development of the course.

As a lecturer you will be responsible for contributing to and developing the time-based direction of the BA. You will bring research and/or industry and teaching experience at undergraduate level. You will manage and participate in the delivery of innovative teaching as well as making a significant contribution to pedagogic delivery, assessment, quality management and recruitment.

The appointed candidate will work under the direction of the Course Leader to deliver the validated course as well as contributing to School, College and University.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications within Illustration and visual media – with a focus on time-based practice. You will have knowledge of delivering innovative projects in a professional and/or academic environment and experience of a range of specialist skills and techniques.

As an academic, previous teaching experience at undergraduate level is essential in addition to experience of research and/or professional practice. We expect you to have a national reputation for research and/or practice in expanded and time-based illustration.

The successful candidate should possess good interpersonal skills and be an innovative teacher.
