The opportunity

Are you a Professor looking for a new challenge or Reader aspiring to be a Professor? We have an opportunity for an academic to play a leading role in shaping the research of the Centre for Fashion Business and Innovation Research at London College of Fashion and contribute to teaching and learning excellence.

You will lead on the development of collaborative links with national and international partners in academia and industry and on the development of external funding applications to research councils, charitable trusts and other relevant agencies. Your duties will also include the supervision and mentoring of research degree students as appropriate.


 

About you

Requirements of the role:

Relevant qualification in fashion business, innovation, economy / PhD required.

Professor/Reader in the areas of fashion business and or innovation.

Recognised international research active profile.

Experience of developing and writing research proposals and funding bids.

Experience of managing a research community.

Experience of REF / Impact delivery.

Communicates in a compelling and influential way. Adapts the style and message to a diverse internal or external audience in an inclusive and accessible way.

Motivates and leads effectively, setting the direction of one or more function and promotes collaboration across formal boundaries.

Applies innovative approaches in leading academic programmes, teaching, learning or professional practice to support excellent teaching, pedagogy and inclusivity.

Applies own research to develop learning and assessment practice.

Contributes to advancing professional practice/research or scholarly activity in own area of specialism.

Effectively plans, prioritises and manages the delivery of complex projects or activities to achieve long term strategic objectives.

Builds effective teams, networks or communities of practice and fosters constructive cross team collaboration.

Makes a significant contribution to improving the student or customer experience to promote an inclusive environment for students, colleagues or customers.

Identifies innovative practical solutions to new or unique problems.
