The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Press Officer in our fast paced press office.  Reporting to the Media Relations Manager you’ll be generating positive coverage and raising the profile of the UK’s leading fashion education institution. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience of working with print, broadcast and digital media with excellent knowledge of pitching to a range of publications and organisations. The role requires frequent liaison with staff and students at all levels.

About you

You will need to be highly organised and able to work on multiple concurrent campaigns. As well as being the first point of contact for all media enquiries you will need excellent administrative and copy writing skills. In conjunction with the Media Relations Manager you will write and distribute press releases, formulate and execute media campaigns and liaise with the communications team for website and social media channels.  You will be responsible for maintaining and updating relevant contacts on the media database, monitoring and evaluating press coverage and assist in the preparation for and running of media events and catwalk shows. You will need an adaptive and creative work style and an understanding of higher education. Established media contacts, especially in the fashion sector would provide you with a distinct advantage as would an interest in the arts, culture and environmental and sustainability issues.
