The opportunity
This new post will oversee the day-to-day operation of key schemes and professional development opportunities for researchers. Working as part of a small but perfectly formed Research and Knowledge Exchange Staff Development team, the successful applicant will work with colleagues from across a range of teams, departments and cultures, coordinating professional development initiatives, communicating eligibility and criteria, contributing to reporting proceedures and overseeing the successful delivery of research and knowledge exchange support and training across UAL. The Researcher Development Project Coordinator’s work contribute to UAL’s commitments to nurture our research culture and deliver on the principles of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
The role is primarily located within Research Management and Administration (RMA)/ our King’s Cross campus but offers flexibility through hybrid working arrangements (mainly using MS Teams).
About you
Candidates will ideally have experience of supporting researcher’s and/or researcher development in higher education contexts, and will have proactively administered schemes and initiatives designed to build research capacity and support career development. An awareness of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, Vitae’s Research Development Framework (RDF) and other relevant professional development tools and resources is essential. The role holder will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong administrative and organisational skills and the proven ability to work independently to deliver objectives.
