The opportunity

LCC has an international reputation for photography education, practice and research, and this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our photography Programme. Our courses are renowned for expanding the boundaries of the medium and our graduates go on to a multitude of careers across the arts and media. You will take charge of the academic leadership and management of this exciting programme, maintaining and enhancing standards and designing, developing delivering the curriculum. Working closely with Course Leaders, you will be responsible for the learning, teaching and assessment of students, line management of key staff and management of a substantial budget. Equally importantly, you will be responsible for leading the development of the Programme’s vision and direction for the future. 

About you

Recognised as a leading authority in the field of photography, you will be able to communicate a passion for the medium and a clear vision for its future.  You will have a degree and postgraduate qualification in photography together with a PgCert or equivalent teaching qualification. Your experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level will be matched by a proven track record of developing and running complex interdisciplinary courses across a variety of specialisms that emphasise critical and conceptual thinking. Committed to using both traditional and innovative teaching methods and technologies, you will have successfully led transformational change within a higher education setting.  You will have excellent industry connections across the arts and media. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to sustained enhancement of the student experience.
