The opportunity

The focus of this role is the operational day-to-day management of staff, space, and services at Central Saint Martins (CSM) Library.     

You will work closely with the CSM Learning Resources Manager and Assistant Learning Zone Manager to ensure the smooth running of the CSM Library & Learning Zone as a whole.  

As well as managing the weekday team, you will manage the weekend service at CSM. This includes staff management, recruitment, training and development, meeting with weekday and weekend managers and teams as required. You will also supervise the evening team at CSM, liaising with the Evening Librarian.  

Your remit includes membership of designated Library Services Groups; you will also be part of CSM College life and represent Library Services at College committees, covering for the Learning Resources Manager in their absence. 

To ensure the smooth running of all services, there may be a requirement to occasionally work during the weekends and until 8pm during term time, and until 6.15pm once a week in vacation periods.   

You must have either a degree in Library and Information Science (or equivalent) or a postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Science, (or equivalent). 

You will have demonstrable experience of working in a library, and of managing a team.
