Front End Developer

The opportunity

The Front End Developer is an integral part of the Development Team and supports the building and enhancing of the University's core digital channels. Working as part of the Digital Team, you will work alongside Content and UX teams, on improving UAL’s digital platforms.

You will be building and maintaining user focused and accessible components, templates and functionality through our content management systems and pattern library. You will also be involved in delivering a number of digital projects – from writing mark up for email templates to improving the performance of webpages.

About you

The Front End Developer will support the Digital Development Manager in delivering an excellent accessible and user focused experience across the University's main digital channels. You will be an experienced pragmatic problem solver and an organised self-starter. You will have experience of core frontend tech stack: HTML, CSS and JavaScript as well as a working knowledge of React, automated testing and version control using GIT. You will be used to working on multiple projects and BAU work simultaneously within a dedicated team. You will have experience in working in an Agile environment.

You will also have line management responsibility for two junior developers. Line management experience is essential for the role.
