The opportunity

The University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking a full-time HR Systems & Reporting Officer to complement an existing HR Systems and Reporting team of 5 FTE, on a permanent basis.

 This is a role that forms part of the HR Systems and Reporting Team within the HR Services and Resourcing Hub.  We have a strong customer focus and seek continual improvement of our business processes to meet UAL requirements. 

The role holder is responsible for providing a comprehensive first line HR Systems Administration service to our managers and employees in line with documented system administration processes.

About you

Your profile should include –

  • Experience in using a range of desktop software packages and in particular manipulating and presenting data using Excel.
  • Experience of using industry standard 3rd party reporting tools such as Cognos or Business Objects.
  • Relevant experience of working in an HR systems role including the delivery of system based training.
  • Communicates effectively orally, in writing and/or using visual media
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external customers, projecting a calm, flexible and professional approach, especially when working under pressure.
  • Plans, prioritises and organises own work to achieve objectives on time.
  • Ability to create realistic plans to achieve own deadlines and objectives, effectively managing workload and prioritising own work.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, providing support, and assistance and cover where needed.
  • Works collaboratively in a team and where appropriate across or with different professional groups.
  • Customer focused approach to service delivery.
  • Ability to contribute to the adaptation of services and systems to meet customers’ needs and helps to identify ways of improving standards.
  • Uses initiative or creativity to resolve problems
  • Ability to distinguish between the need to make a decision and when to defer.
  • Contributes to the decision making of others by providing relevant information and opinions.
  • Ability to establish basic facts by carrying out appropriate enquiries
