The opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic, industry-orientated academic practitioner to join the Fashion Communication Programme as the Course Leader for BA (Hons) Creative Direction for Fashion.

As Course Leader, you will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the course in terms of learning and teaching, curriculum development, research and scholarship, quality assurance and resourcing.

The role also includes responsibility for actively contributing to working relationships with colleagues and projects across the Fashion Communication programme and School of Media and Communication.

About you

Creative Direction for Fashion is well established and highly regarded course so you will have significant expertise to lead and build on its forward-thinking vision. You will understand and have expertise in media and communication in a broad cultural and creative context and the confidence to translate that into developing the vision for the course. A keen awareness and interest in emerging technologies and innovation is necessary to support student interests. A relevant degree-level qualification is essential and will ideally be supported by a teaching qualification.

There is a rich culture of knowledge exchange on the course so you will have the ability to establish new and leverage extensive industry connections and networks to provide significant opportunities in the curriculum, particularly important in the context of LCF’s move to Stratford and the East Bank in 2023. With relevant professional experience and research interests, you will contribute innovative knowledge within our School, our College and the wider University.

You will be a clear, confident communicator who can facilitate and build productive working relationships between teams.

Drawing on your academic experience, you will ensure we continue to innovate in teaching, learning support and assessment.
