The opportunity

Learning Technology Support  (LTS) seeks a skilled and experienced Technical Assistant providing administrative and system related support for the Online Resource Booking system (ORB) as directed or requested by Technical Coordinators and Specialist Technicians.  A varied and dynamic role, a key part of the role is to be first point of contact for all enquiries from students and staff relating to Orb accounts and answer account queries behalf of the LTS. This role will provide support with setting up new staff user accounts, create and amend bookable equipment and store times as required. Troubleshooting when assets are not bookable by students. Liaising with technicians to confirm account and asset setup​. Report critical issues in the correct procedure to the relevant parties. You will also ensure there is a comprehensive administrative and support service in place, as well as University policy and procedures are complied with, contributing to the delivery of the LTS department's strategic plan.

About you

You will have proven and demonstrable experience with a variety of software and platforms. Strong IT skills and experience of using as online booking systems i.e. ORB, Virtual Learning Environments i.e. (Moodle), MS Office 365 and Adobe presentation/design software. A broad understanding of complimentary digital technology and competencies is essential. 

You will be skilled in day-to-day monitoring of email, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-disciplined manner. Adhering to an extremely high standard of customer care are is also an​ essential characteristic for this role. You should be highly proactive, well-organised, command excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, while operating with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
