The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic maker whose primary interest and medium sits within the expanded field of woodwork. The ideal candidate has skills that reflect both contemporary and traditional practices present in Art and Design higher education.

This role is to work with another resident specialist technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the workshop resource. This role provides individual support to students and plans group delivery for inductions and specific skills as they relate to course delivery.  You’ll work closely with your line manager, studio technicians, and fellow colleagues in the other 3D workshop resources to deliver an excellent technical provision which is appropriate for a wide variety of courses.

You’ll be involved in the supervision and maintenance of the workshop space and will be key in maintaining health and safety measures within the spaces. As you’ll be working a lot with others, excellent communication and team working skills are essential.
