The opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious academic researcher/practitioner to join the Cultural and Historical Studies Department at London College of Fashion. In this key role, you will be responsible for the academic coordination of the Dissertation unit across the School of Media and Communication. You will work closely with the Cultural and Historical Studies Course Leader to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of standards, and to lead the delivery of the curriculum.

As Lecturer in Cultural and Historical Studies, you will join the Cultural and Historical Studies Department at London College of Fashion, a dynamic collective of researchers and practitioners in fashion studies.

You will use your knowledge of fashion and/or cultural studies within a media context to develop the curriculum and support our students.

About you

You will be an authority through theory or practice in the field of fashion studies within a media context. You have the enthusiasm, expertise and communication skills to inspire and fully engage our diverse cohort of students. You will have experience of running complex units within a course in higher education (or comparable context), an ability to coordinate curriculum development and assessment, an understanding of internal and external examination processes, and have sound knowledge of current developments in the fields of fashion, media and/or cultural studies with a desire to challenge and de-centre Euro-centric understandings of culture and history through pedagogy and research.
