The opportunity

LCC is enjoying significant growth and transformation as we prepare to move to our new cutting-edge London Campus in 2026. This exciting role will play a pivotal part in developing existing and new technologies across the College. You will be responsible for shaping the College’s emerging technologies provision and managing the creative technology lab. You will play a key role in developing the team, ensuring it responds to an evolving curriculum, and of making emerging technologies accessible and inclusive.

As an active member of the Technical Management Group, you will help deliver the technical resources strategy and provide vital information and expertise to the Head of Technical Resources and the Technical Manager. You will ensure the creative technology team delivers operational objectives and meets strategic targets, and you will liaise continuously with academic programmes and courses.

You will ensure that students at LCC have access to the fullest range of technical resources and experience the latest developments in emerging technologies, and that resources are being used safely and efficiently.

As LCC prepares to move into a new building, you will play a significant role in helping to influence and shape its development.

About you

ou will be an innovative and creative technician with a passion for emerging technologies, excited by the prospect of leading a group of talented specialists. You will relish the challenge of supporting a diverse range of talented creatives and renowned academics. Experience of supporting customers and stakeholders in a creative environment is key. Knowledge of Health & Safety management related to the designated technical area is also essential.

You will ideally have extensive technical knowledge in one or more of the following fields, including immersive technology (VR, AR, Mixed Reality), creative computing, physical computing, machine learning, creative coding, projection mapping, games development, and other emerging technologies.

You will be analytical and a keen problem solver who is equally at home helping students find solutions to complex problems as well as working to develop knowledge exchange partnerships and research collaborations.

You will play a key role in ensuring LCC remains a leading institution, delivering outstanding technical spaces that blend traditional and future technologies, and which guides students to develop their skills and discover new possibilities and practices.

The post will require some on campus working but the nature of the work means that remote working will be common too.

The University offers highly creative working environments that inspire staff across all areas to fulfil their potential and continuous training to further develop their skills and expertise. We also offer hybrid and flexible working practices, and excellent staff benefits to improve your work life balance.
