0.2 Lecturer in Costume - Digital Practice

The opportunity

An exciting new vacancy has arisen in the Performance Design and Technologies
programme at Wimbledon College of Arts, within BA Costume for Theatre and 
Screen. This highly successful course is looking for a 0.2 Lecturer to join our 
committed team of specialist Academics and Technicians. Your knowledge and skills will ensure subject relevance, currency and innovation in the subject area. You'll be responsible for contributing to and developing the course’s academic direction and delivery as it continues to grow and engage with new technologies and innovations within costume provision at Wimbledon.

To compliment the current team’s academic portfolio, we are interested in applicants with specialist experience in Digital Applications who are able to demonstrate a high level of skill in facilitating production of visual and illustrative outcomes alongside moving imagery and photographic editing. The successful applicant will be required to work with all three year groups across the course on a range of projects.

The Student experience is at the heart of what we do at Wimbledon and your 
professional skills within costume will inform and motivate our students’ practice and learning opportunities.

The post holder will liaise with Unit Leaders in project planning and development of the digital learning experience within the course. You will be required to work closely and professionally with students and staff members at all levels. Duties will involve any associated administration and quality assurance to ensure the smooth running of the course.

About you

Candidates must have experience in teaching at HE level and be able to demonstrate flexible teaching practices to a diverse student body. An understanding and appreciation of how costume can be represented through a range of digital media is essential. Applicants should be conversant with a wide range of relevant digital software including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and Premier Pro.
