The opportunity

This post is a key role within the delivery of the Creative Research aspects of the BA and MA Courses in the Performance Design and Technologies Programme to teach students to develop methodologies and approaches to research and studio practice.

You’ll be overseeing the Year 1 delivery across the Programme taking on the role of Unit Leader for specified year 1 units, co-ordinating the delivery and the associated administration and quality assurance. Predominately focused with the Year 1 students and student induction and you will contribute to Year 2 delivery and Year 3 Dissertations and MA provision, as per your areas of expertise in a team.

You’ll be working closely with the Senior Lecturer in Creative Research and the Course team of academic staff to deliver a challenging Creative Research programme. This will include giving lectures, leading seminars, 1:1 tutorials, leading external visits to museums and archives, supervising Dissertations and marking assignments across the Programme’s design-based disciplines.

About you

You will have a background within the Performance Design and Technologies subject areas, holding a degree in a relevant area. You will have a passion for Design and its specialist areas in performance, film etc. and understand the importance of Creative Research in developing practical visual work and performance-based outcomes.

You will have experience of teaching at undergraduate level and the ideal candidate will also have previous experience of curriculum management at unit/module level and have been involved in curriculum development.
