The opportunity

The Moving Image and Digital Arts (MIDA) Programme seeks an outstanding practitioner, teacher and/or researcher to join the Programme as a lecturer in the BA Immersive Media and Mixed Reality and MA Virtual Reality courses. MIDA is part of the Screen School at UAL’s London College of Communication. Our Programme includes 2D and 3D animation, games design, virtual reality and visual effects.

Supporting the course leaders, the post-holder will deploy specialist expertise to assist with curriculum planning and teaching activities, such as course delivery, grading, and tutorials. You will actively pursue the latest technical developments in XR software and hardware and will help customise this knowledge for students with different study backgrounds and technical skills. You will work collaboratively across courses in the MIDA Programme, deploying specialist expertise to support pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions. The role will be focused on teaching technical specialist skills for immersive media such as virtual reality, augmented reality and 360-degree film making.

This role requires the post-holder to be able to work onsite in order to access relevant location-based hardware equipment.

The post will contribute to the Screen School's commitment to innovation in immersive media design and belief that extended reality has the ability to make a substantial and positive contribution to the arts.
