The opportunity

We're recruiting a Support Technician to work closely with students, tutors and fellow technicians supporting the Textile Workshops and dispensaries under the Textile Design programme at Chelsea College of Arts. This person must be able to work independently but will also be working to support other specialist textile teams.

This is a supporting technical role working with students across programmes, involving the management of the Heat Press workshop, Yarn store and Print store, including delivering safe practice workshops and overseeing safe machine use. You'll also be responsible for teaching core hand skills, implementing Health and Safety best practice, managing online resource booking system and payments systems.

About you

We're looking for a friendly and motivated person with back ground in, or experience of, working in some area of textiles. Working directly with Students is at the forefront of this role and some experience in demonstration skills at HE level is desirable. We're looking for someone to assist with course aligned demonstration for small groups as well as independent 1-1 communication. A basic familiarity with online booking management tools is desirable.

Should you have any questions not answered in the supporting documentation, please contact Aruna Dhinakaran, Resourcing Assistant at jobs.ccw@arts.ac.uk.
