The opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious academic researcher and/or practitioner to take on the role of Lecturer in Visual Communication, Information and Data Design. The Lecturer in Visual Communication, Information and Data Design is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the BA Graphic Design Communication Course at Chelsea College of Arts. The role will be focused on the development of core skills in visual communication and information design.
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of the theories and practices in Information Design and Visual Communication and will be expected to develop these across the Course.
The role will contribute to Design School’s commitment to Social Design and belief that Design can make a substantial and positive contribution to the development of society through engagement with sectors beyond the creative industries.
About you
Candidates will possess specialist knowledge and/or experience of Visual Communication, Information Design and Data Design theory and thinking and demonstrate experience/expertise in the area.
Candidates should possess a record of professional practice/research and demonstrate advanced proficiency and knowledge of Adobe CC, Figma and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of HTML 5, CSS 3, and Javascript knowledge is a bonus
Successful candidates will be active in research, knowledge exchange, and/or professional practice and possess a strong record of publications/practice. An MA in Design or relevant field is essential.
