The opportunity

The successful candidate will be part of the 3D Make team which operates a set of distinctive making workshops to cater for a wide range of courses within the College.

A support technician contributes and proactively participates in the delivery of techniques and processes supporting a diverse groups of new learners and practitioners from different Art and Design pathways. Ensuring that staff and students work in an environment that is both productive and safe.

You will not only bring key skills with you but contribute to ongoing development of the workshops. You will have the opportunity to develop new skills and experiences across a wide range of technical workshops.

About you

You should have a BA in a relevant Art and Design subject, (or a professional equivalent) and relevant experience, gained through working in industry/practice and or education.

You must be able to demonstrate and pass on technical skills to a wide range of students, have an in-depth knowledge of wood working, manufacture, fabrication and associated digital fabrication and software.

An awareness and appreciation of the need for high levels of customer care, health & safety and a flexible attitude to supporting the development of new ideas whist supporting experienced and inexperienced makers and designers.

We are offering applicants to attend a tour of the 3D make workshops, showing areas where the successful would potentially work. This would offer potential applicants the opportunity to see and absorb the workshop space and ask role related questions.

Thursday 23rd February 5.30pm – 6.30pm or Tuesday 28th February 9am – 10am
